Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium 2013

The Youth Entrepreneurship Symposium (YES) is back with a different theme - this time it's "Discovering your inner entrepreneur", where participants are encouraged to explore and realize their potential of becoming the movers and shakers of tomorrow. Since its inaugural edition in 2008, YES has tried to establish itself as a premier entrepreneurship and network event for Singaporean youths aged 16-18, with its vision of establishing a platform for youths to connect with established business leaders. It's the perfect fit for SMBA, and we're excited to be supplying YES 2013 with five business luminaries as judges for their various events, including Quick Pitch, which simulates real-world scenarios that encourage participants to think out of the box and learn what running a business is all about.
Crowdsourcing Week 2013

With Singapore’s strategic location as an innovation hub, everyone at the event can gain useful insights from the region’s best practices, while learning from crowdsourcing experiences across North America, Europe, Latin America and Africa. Experts in the industry will host over 30 sessions, and each day will feature a designated theme.

Singapore’s premier global start-up challenge designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs convert their ideas into reality, Start-Up@Singapore is organizing its signature event, the much-anticipated Awards Ceremony for the 14th time. The event will proudly showcase 28 finalists, the most number of finalists that Start-Up@Singapore has had so far. After having undergone months of rigorous judging and mentoring, the winners of each category will be declared on the day itself and will walk away with attractive prizes of up to SGD$235,000.
Creating a Sustainable City State of Singapore for Future Generations

With plans to increase our population to a whopping 6.9 million by 2030, the question Singaporeans are asking is - can this be achieved, and at what costs? This very timely seminar explores the world of Design Technology as a possible solution to this seeming conundrum, focusing on the products, services and systems that can help achieve this population projection whilst ensuring an ever improving quality of life for Singaporeans. The keynote speaker, Prof Lui Pao Chuen, Advisor, National Research Centre, will expound on these issues and other related topics such as governance and management challenges, the changing climate and the needs of future generations. The talk also explores alternate solutions such as land reclamation, use of underground space and other initiatives that can help create a sustainable city.
